Jesus talks about money more than any other topic and much of the time, He brings it up in connection with doing justice. I have been compiling a list of these verses in the back of my Bible cover for some time now. I will share here what I have found.
COMMANDS TO BE GENEROUS:
Ephesians 4:28 “Use your hands for good hard work, and then give generously to others in need.”
Hebrews 13:5, 16 “Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have… and don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.”
Luke 12:48 “When someone has been given much, much will be required in return.”
2 Corinthians 8: “Give in proportion to what you have… of course I don’t mean that your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. Right now you have plenty and can help those who are in need.”
Matthew 5:42 “Give to those who ask and do not turn away from those who want to borrow.”

BENEFITS OF BEING GENEROUS:
Luke 6:38 “Give and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full-pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.”
Proverbs 11:24-25 “Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”

CONSEQUENCES OF NOT BEING GENEROUS:

Timothy Keller, best-selling author and Pastor of Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York City has an excellent (and free) sermon series about wealth. I highly recommend listening.
